1.1      In this Privacy Policy, references to “we” or “us” are to Salus Education, operated by Laser Education Limited who will be the controller of any personal data processed as described in this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy applies to the use of the Website for accessing Online Networks and Content.

3.1      When you access the Website via any means, use the Online Networks and Content, register or post messages or other material, respond to or participate in any feedback sent to you by us, we may collect, store and use certain of your personal information in line with this policy. We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with the Website or the Online Networks and Content.

3.2      To register on the Website, we ask for your full name, email address and location. As part of your delegate profile, you may also provide contact details and information about your establishment or role that will help others in the learning community get to know you (this will always be optional). If you contact us, we will keep a record of that correspondence.

3.3      We may also collect data relating to your visits to the Website that cannot identify you but records your use of our Website and Online Networks and Content including, for example, details of how long you have used the Website and the Online Networks and Content for.

3.4      We may also collect your computer’s IP address in order to help us tailor the service to your location.

4.1      By accessing the Website via any means, using the Online Network and Content, registering or posting forum messages or other material or providing comments via the feedback/evaluation forms, you agree that your personal information may be collected, stored and used by us for any of the following purposes:

(a) to provide, maintain, protect and improve the quality of the Website and the Online Networks and Content we offer and to protect us and our users;

(b) to provide you with a personalised browsing experience when using the Website;

(c) to fulfil any contractual agreements between you and us;

 (e) to manage your Learner account that you hold with us;

(f) to allow you to use the full range of features on or via our Website;

(i) to contact you occasionally in order to invite you to share your opinions and experiences of the Website;

5. Storage of Information

5.1      All information is stored on our secure servers hosted by HowToMoodle. When you register, we will provide a password which enables you to access the Online Networks and Content. You are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share this password with anyone. 

6. Legal Basis for Processing Your Information

6.1      Our legal basis for holding your personal information is because you have provided consent to allow us to use your data - this can be withdrawn at any time, please contact the Office of the Data Protection Officer. 

7. Disclosure of Your Information

We may need to share your information with our provider of file storage and management services.

These suppliers’ use of your personal data may be subject to their own privacy policies, which are available on their websites, and which we suggest you familiarise yourself within the relevant circumstances set out above.

8.1      End of the academic programme or course in which your enrollment terminates.

9.1      You can do the following :

You can edit your personal details via your profile page whenever you wish.  We maintain a procedure in order to help you confirm that your personal information remains correct and up-to-date.

In addition, you can unsubscribe to forums and discussions. Again, you can exercise these rights by contacting us or by using the Unsubscribe options in your profile.

You may update your personal information by logging into the Website and visiting your profile and preferences under your name on the top right of the webpage. You may also email us at admin@salus.education and we will correct, delete or update your personal information on our systems. We will answer every email as promptly as possible.

If you have any privacy-related questions or unresolved problems, you may contact us using the information provided in paragraph 12 below.

10. Cookies

10.1      The Website uses cookies. Cookies are small files stored on your computer’s hard drive which are used to collect your personal information. You may choose to refuse cookies but, if you do so, some of the functionality of the Website or Online Networks may no longer be available to you.

10.2      The webservers collect anonymous information such as the IP address of your computer or the browser software used, the operating system, access times and pages visited. This information is used to monitor usage and the effectiveness of the website.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.
